Raizo Ichikawa, 35 years old at the time, gives a restrained performance that exudes professionalism. In addition to the interesting three-way play between Raizo and co-stars Yumiko Nogawa and Mikio Narita, he is flanked by such accomplished performers as Asao Koike and Mayumi Nagisa. With a script by Yasuzo Masumura and Akihiro Ishimatsu, master director Issei Mori also shows off his skills, and master cinematographer Kazuo Miyagawa's cinematography produces memorable scenes, including a confrontation scene in a cemetery in the twilight.
