This work was inspired by the red bridge under the moon that Chiaki Oka saw from a ryokan in Ureshino Onsen, Saga, the year before last. He had been fascinated by the fantastic scenery and had been telling Yuki Igawa for a year that he wanted to create a work of that scenery someday. The crescent moon moving from the eastern sky to the western sky during the night and the bridge watching the moon. The beautiful but sad work was created by comparing the overlapping and separating scenery in one night to a meeting between a man and a woman.

～闇を移ろう月と赤い橋～ 重なりあい、また離れてゆく光と影 それは一夜の逢瀬をいつくしむ男と女の姿にも似て・・・ 震える刹那・・・五十川ゆきが綴る、妖艶で甘美な新世界・・・ 2024年度の五十川ゆき作品は、以前からさまざまな状況でコンタクトがありつつ実現しなかった、岡千秋氏との作品制作となった。この作品が生まれるきっかけとなったのは、岡千秋氏が、一昨年佐賀・嬉野温泉の旅館から見た月下の赤い橋。岡千秋氏はその幻想的な風景に魅了され、いつかあの風景を作品にしたいと、一年前から五十川ゆきに話していた。夜の間に東の空から西の空に移動する三日月とその月を眺める橋。一夜で重なりあい離れていく様を、男女の逢瀬に見立てた、美しくも悲しい作品が生まれた。
