千葉げん太歌手生活45周年記念曲。作詩家の故千葉幸雄先生と二人で長年紡いだ道のりの果てに完成した佳曲です。「祝い船」「お岩木山」などのヒット曲で知られる作詞家千葉幸雄先生が2020年4月に逝去されました。2001年発売の代表作「望郷わらべ歌」で、初めて千葉幸雄先生の詩に千葉げん太が宮迫はじめのペンネームで曲をつけ、以来12作のシングルはこのコンビで創作・発売をしてきました。2019年の暮れに千葉げん太のもとに詩が届きましたが、奇しくも今作が千葉幸夫先生の遺作となりました。千葉ー宮迫コンビ結成20年に当たる本作の中に、先生が託したメッセージは「男の生き様」。この大きなテーマを、いぶし銀冴えわたる"千葉げん太節"で痛快に歌い上げてます。
