Genius arranger Norio Maeda, who was even described as "writing different scores with his right and left hands at the same time", welcomed his close allies Takeshi Inomata and Tatsuro Takimoto in 1968, amid the fervor of the student movement, and took on his first piano trio work head-on as a pianist. This work combines orderly melodies in the new mainstream style that led the jazz scene of the time, experimental qualities making full use of prepared piano, and even an eccentric level of creativity in stuffing as many as seven microphones inside the piano.
