坂本龍一のソロ・デビュー作にして不朽の名盤「千のナイフ」と現在廃盤でファンから再発要望が高い隠れた名作「エンド・オブ・エイシア」を高音質のHQCDにて限定再発!! 坂本龍一がYMO在籍時に、岡本一朗によって結成された古楽演奏集団”ダンスリー”とリリースした2枚目のアルバムにして、13世紀フランスのトラバドゥールの曲から14世紀イタリア、16世紀スペイン・オランダの曲、坂本龍一のオリジナル曲を収録した、中世ルネッサンス期の音楽を坂本独自の視点で再現した隠れた名盤。各ネットオークションにて高値で取引されていることに顕著に現れているが、数年間に渡り廃盤状態が続いていたファン待望の一枚である。今回の再発にあたりデジタル・リマスタリングを実施。HQCD化による音質向上が更に魅力あるものとなっている (オリジナル・リリース: 1982年2月)。
