1990年の米ロングアイランドで結成されたテクニカル・デスメタルバンド。1991年に「Effigy of the Forgotten」でロードランナーよりデビュー。3枚のアルバムを発表するが、1998年に解散。しかし、再結成を果たし2004年、4枚目のアルバム「Souls to Deny」をリラプスよりリリース。通算6枚目となる「Blood Oath」より Nuclear Blast に移籍した。本作は通算7枚目、NB 移籍2枚目のオリジナル・アルバム。彼らのブルータルなサウンドには一点の曇りもありません。メタル界では珍しい黒人のギタリスト、テレンス・ホブスの鬼神のごとき轟音プレイは壮絶の極み! 全10曲収録。
