In 2016, their 40th anniversary, they announced a limited time "hiatus" and went on a "hiatus" again after performing at summer festivals and going on a live house tour. Four years later, in August 2020, they surprised their fans by holding a no-show live concert to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the release of their album "Camera = Fountain Pen. In October 2020, they held their first audience-attended live concert in four years at Nakano Sun-plaza, effectively "resuming activities" after a hiatus. デビュー45周年を迎えたムーンライダーズ、音楽ファン待望の10年ぶりのオリジナル・アルバム!! ムーンライダーズはデビュー35周年にあたる2011年11月、無期限の活動休止を発表。その後、メンバーのかしぶち哲郎の1周忌にあたる2013年に一夜限りの復活。さらに40周年の2016年、期間限定で"活動休止の休止"を宣言し夏フェス出演とライブハウス・ツアーを経て再び"活動休止"。それから4年。2020年8月にアルバム『カメラ=万年筆』リリース40周年を記念し突如、無観客ライブを開催しファンを驚かせた。続く2020年10月には、4年ぶりの有観客ライブを中野サンプラザにて開催、"活動休止の休止"つまり事実上の"活動再開"となった。本格的に活動を活発化するムーンライダーズは、今年のクリスマス、12月25日(土)&26日(日)に東京恵比寿ガーデンホールにて「moonriders live THE COLD MOON」の開催が決定するなど精力的に活動を続けている。そして2022年には音楽ファン待望の10年ぶりのアルバムのリリースが決定!!
