作曲家に幸耕平氏を迎えた作品としては3作目となる今作では、前作「茜の炎」に引き続き、等身大の女性の恋心を描いた歌謡曲路線の作品。作詩には大石にとっては初となる松井五郎氏を起用。メロディーも前作よりよりポップに、且つ大人の歌謡曲の路線から外れず、これまでの演歌のファン層の少し下の歌謡曲を好んで聞く世代に刺さるような楽曲。今シングルでは大石まどかの30周年の集大成と位置づけ、30周年イヤーを挟んで制作された今作を含んだ3作のシングルを、節目の年に新たなステージへと歩み出す3曲と位置づけ、カップリングに前作、前々作のシングル楽曲を再収録。歌詩カード、A面メロ譜付。
