[Machine Translation] Their debut album, "8555," is the result of numerous improvisational sessions that have resulted in sharply honed songs that retain a sense of exploration and playfulness. The result is an album of sharply honed compositions that are at once avant-garde, reminiscent of King Crimson and Captain Beefheart, and hardcore punk, with a sense of urgency and twisted humor reminiscent of P-Model and Hiccashoe. 8555" was recorded entirely by the band themselves over the course of several sessions. Some of the songs contain the chaos and exploration of a live performance, while others are structurally constructed. The result is an extremely tight sound manifesto condensed into 36 minutes. The eclectic soundscape, in which the different personalities of each member intertwine, gains its strength from the "lack of unity" itself. With this work, KODAKUZAZE will be seen as part of a new wave that is rewriting the rules of the current young Japanese independent scene - one of the most explosive movements alongside the likes of TV Ondo, Dogo, Aldo Van Eyck, and others.
