話題を呼んでいる「特捜戦隊デカレンジャー」のVシネマ版が20周年を記念してお求めになりやすい廉価版で登場! 2004年2月から2005年2月まで、全国テレビ朝日系で放送された"スーパー戦隊シリーズ"第28弾。宇宙で多発する惑星間犯罪組織を取り締まるために設立された宇宙警察・地球署を舞台に、選ばれし刑事たち、S.P.D――『スペシャル・ポリス・デカレンジャー』6人が、宇宙犯罪者・アリエナイザーたちに立ち向かう。2006年の日本SF大会ではスーパー戦隊シリーズ初の『星雲賞』を受賞するなど、幅広い層からの支持を集めた。放送終了後も根強い人気と復活を望む声が多く寄せられ、放送終了10周年を記念して制作されたVシネマ版。
