初期宮崎駿・高畑勲コンビによる不朽の名作、「ミミちゃんとパンダコパンダ」、「雨ふりサーカス」のレコード化もまだされていない本邦初リリース! 主題歌を歌う水森亜土による描き下ろしイラスト、コメント付き! ※(過去にキング・レコードより1983年に発売されていたサントラはドラマ・レコード) 【作品紹介】: 1972年(昭和47)に日中友好の一環として中国からパンダが上野動物園に送られたことをきっかけに日本にパンダブームが起こり企画された。『長くつ下のピッピ』アニメ化のために集結した、高畑勲、宮崎駿、小田部羊一のチームが制作。結果、主人公のミミちゃんにはピッピの面影が色濃く現れている。パパンダのキャラクターは発展して、トトロとなった。 【音楽】: ヴィブラフォン、ホーン、ワウギターなど70年代のテイストがふんだんに散りばめられた劇伴。通常はジャズの作曲家が初めてアニメの音楽に取り組んだ意欲作。
