Complete Deaden The Nerve

[Machine Translation] The third reissue in a three-month series commemorating the 40th anniversary of the band's formation, "DEADEN THE NERVE Pt. 1" (first CD release), released on cassette in 1990 from P.M.A RECORDS, and "DEADEN THE NERVE Pt. 2", a CD EP released in 1992, are coupled and released as "COMPLETE DEADEN THE NERVE". COMPLETE DEADEN THE NERVE" is the complete version of the CD EP "DEADEN THE NERVE Pt. 2" released in 1992. DEADEN THE NERVE Pt. 1", the next cassette release after "SURROUNDED BY FOES" (1990: cassette), was the first time the band approached the death metal style and this is the first CD release. The band pursued the "heavy and fast" sound that they were aiming for at the time, and also absorbed the essence of culture outside of music, such as horror movies, to arrive at their sound. The vocal style has also changed to a death voice, and the sound effects are effectively arranged to stir up a sense of uneasiness.

ROSEROSEバンド結成40周年記念の3ヶ月連続リイシュー第三弾は、P.M.A RECORDSより1990年にカセット作品としてリリースされた『DEADEN THE NERVE Pt.1』(初CD化) と1992年にリリースされたCD EP作品『DEADEN THE NERVE Pt.2』をカップリングし、完全版となった『COMPLETE DEADEN THE NERVE』。『SURROUNDED BY FOES』(1990年: カセット) の次にリリースされたカセット作品『DEADEN THE NERVE Pt.1』は、デスメタル・スタイルへと接近した最初の作品で今回が初CD化。当時バンドが指標していた「とにかく重くて速い」を追及し、更にホラー映画など音楽以外のカルチャーからのエッセンスも吸収した結果辿り着いたサウンド。ヴォーカル・スタイルもデスヴォイスへと変化し、不安感を煽るSEも効果的に配置された作品だ。
