The band was formed in 2004 by Tomomi Hiroishi (Vo, G), Kota Fujii (G), Daisuke Wakabayashi (B), and Souhei Oyama (Dr), all of whom were attending Berklee College of Music, in Boston, the ancient capital of the United States. Currently, they have moved their home from Boston to New York City, where they are energetically performing live. The band is produced by Shunji Okada, who has directed music videos and live performances for such artists as THE YELLOW MONKEY and LUNA SEA. The band's precise songwriting and sophisticated lyrical worldview, backed by Berklee's tradition, have absorbed the current New York City scene, which is now forming a new scene, and have taken THE RICECOOKERS' sound, a mixture of subtlety and inverse heaviness, to new heights! Their live performances, honed in the company of local bands at repeated shows in downtown New York, have created a new fan base in the multinational city of New York. Recorded in Brooklyn, "CHACMOOL" is a record filled with such momentum that you cannot help but expect great things from their music!
