Phewの実に15年ぶりとなる待望の新作ソロ・アルバム! 全曲カヴァー、セルフ・プロデュースによる唯一無比の傑作! 全曲オリジナル曲で構成されている前作『秘密のナイフ』が発表されたのが1995年。その後も様々な形態で活動してきたPhewだが、ソロ名義に立ち戻っての久々の新作は全曲カヴァーという、意外なようでいて、これまで以上に歌い手としてのPhew の全貌を浮かび上がらせる作品になった。収録曲には、寺山修司作詞の2曲(「世界の涯まで連れてって」「時には母のない子のように」)、永六輔作詞/中村八大作曲の2曲(「どこかで」「夢で逢いましょう」)、同じく中村八大作曲で水原弘が歌った「素晴らしい人生」、これまでライヴのレパートリーとして時折歌われてきたエルヴィス・プレスリーの「Love me tender」、さらには坂本龍一『B2-UNIT』収録の「Thatness Thereness」もあるが、とりわけ興味を引くのが、加藤和彦/フォーク・クルセダーズの3曲(「オーブル街」「不思議な日」「青年は荒野をめざす」)。それぞれにPhewの歌の異なる側面が引き出された素晴らしいカヴァーになっている。ただひとり全曲参加のジム・オルークを筆頭に、Phew 自身が「自分の歌の良き理解者ばかりだった」と語る、錚々たる参加ミュージシャンの顔触れにも注目! 参加ミュージシャン: ジム・オルーク、石橋英子、山本精一、山本久土、山本達久、向島ゆり子、bikke 録音・ミックス: 内田直之(DRY & HEAVY, LITTLE TEMPO, キセル 他) マスタリング: 中村宗一郎(ゆらゆら帝国, BORIS 他)
