In "Shindan," a mysterious story about a blind anma whose sight is suddenly restored one day, Hana Kuroki, Masahiro Higashide, and Hiyo Matsumoto play a blind anma; Mizuki Yamamoto, Amane Okayama, and Shunsuke Daito play a man testing the love of a female prostitute in "Tatsumi no Tsujiyomi," and Kento Nagayama, Kumi Takiuchi, and Kitaro play a desperate artisan in love in "Konya Takao," a two-part rakugo story that is now a gruesome tale. Nao, Tatsuya Wakaba, Minori Hagiwara, and Ayumi Nakajima appeared in "Miyatogawa," which is composed of two parts and is said that few rakugo storytellers perform the latter half of the story. Rakugo storyteller Kyotaro Yanagiya, who is also active as an actor, will narrate and provide commentary. 落語から生まれた4つの怖い物語。滑稽話のイメージがある落語だが、実は怖い話の宝庫でもある。落語の演目の中でも"人間の怖さ"が際立つ演目をアレンジ&ドラマ化した新感覚オムニバス落語ドラマ。本作で描かれる落語の演目は「心眼」、「辰巳の辻占」、「紺屋高尾」、「宮戸川」。盲目の按摩 (あんま) の視力が、ある日突然回復する不思議な話「心眼」には黒木華、東出昌大、松本妃代が、男が女郎の愛を試す「辰巳の辻占」には山本美月、岡山天音、大東駿介が、けなげな職人の恋物語「紺屋高尾」には永山絢斗、瀧内公美、きたろうが、2部構成で現在では陰惨な後半部分を演じる落語家がほとんどいないといわれている「宮戸川」には奈緒、若葉竜也、萩原みのり、中島歩が出演。役者としても活躍している落語家の柳家喬太郎が語り、解説を務める。各話の脚本を首藤凜、山田由梨、ぺヤンヌマキ、舘そらみ等、新進気鋭の脚本家がそれぞれ書き下ろす。男性によって生み出された古典落語の物語に、気鋭の女性脚本家たちがどのような現代的な解釈を加え人間の怖さの普遍性を描くのか注目だ。原作である古典落語に組み込まれている登場人物たちの欲望=人間の怖さを料理した独自性あふれるオリジナルストーリーにご期待いただきたい。
