Microid S (Omoide no Anime Library 153)

The insect warriors Microids confront the Black Devil. The distinctive science-fiction hero anime based on Osamu Tezuka's manga is released on Blu-ray for the first time. Three Microids with astonishing power hidden in their tiny bodies challenge Gidron, which threatens humanity. More than half a century after its 1973 broadcast, the series returns on newly remastered, high-definition Blu-ray. Gidron is an ant with highly developed intelligence caused by mutation. Using advanced science, Gidron and its forces manufacture numerous insect robots and shrink captured humans to their own size, giving them insect characteristics and turning them into microscopic warriors called Microids. Three Microids, Yanma, Ageha, and Mamezo, escape to the human world at the risk of their lives to warn humanity about the threat of Gidron. No one believes their warning, and some people even try to exploit the Microids. Just as Yanma and the others begin to despair, only Dr. Midoro and his son Manabu believe in Gidron's existence and promise to help them. With dependable allies at their side, the Microids secretly begin their microscopic battle to defeat Gidron and its plan to destroy humanity. Contains all 26 episodes. Original broadcast: April 7 to October 6, 1973 on the NET (TV Asahi) network. [Bonus footage] New-program preview and an alternate non-credit version of "Yanma da Ageha da Mamezo da." [Enclosed bonus] A booklet.
