Blu-ray release of the anime series "Special Armored Battalion Dorvack" 40 years after its original broadcast! The special features include three short stories that were released after the broadcast of the series. --One day in the year 1999, a huge colony spaceship invades the solar system. The spaceship was carrying 2 million people from Idelia who had lost their home planet. For more than 10,000 years, they had been traveling from star to star in search of a safe haven, and with their last hope in the solar system, they had found a possible safe haven on Earth. However, their spaceships were running low on energy, and they sent a space fleet to invade Earth in order to survive, knowing that humans lived there. The Earth Defense Forces immediately launched a counterattack, but were forced to flee in defeat due to overwhelming differences in scientific power. Colonel Yoichi Takagi, who alone had predicted the alien invasion, developed a variable machine to counter the Idelians and entrusted it to three men, Masato Mugen, Louis Oberon, and Pierre Bonaparte. They find a clue to counterattack in the activities of the specially-equipped aircraft unit "Dorback" and begin their attack. Contains 36 episodes. Commentary enclosed.
