あの夏、いちばん静かな海。 / 邦画
北野武監督最新作『アウトレイジ 最終章』公開記念! 北野武監督の過去作が待望のBlu-ray化! 今振り返るべき名作が高画質でよみがえる! ふとしたきっかけでサーフィンに打ち込み始めた聾唖の青年とその恋人の姿を描き、故・淀川長治氏をして「いちばんの傑作」と言わしめた第3回監督作品。― 声・の・無・い・恋・が・燃・え・た・季・節― 聾唖の青年茂は、清掃車の助手の仕事途中で捨ててあったサーフボードを拾う。茂はそれを持って、同じ聾唖の恋人・貴子を連れ海に出かける。必死にサーフィンに挑戦し、練習に明け暮れる茂。それを見つめる貴子。やがて、サーフボードは壊れ、給料日を待って新品を買い、また練習に明け暮れる。ひたむきな茂を見たサーフショップの店長中島は、ウェットスーツとサーフィン大会の出場申込書を渡す。サーフィン大会の当日、茂と貴子は、出場の呼び出しが聞こえなかったため失格となる。茂は、めげずに一層サーフィンに熱中する。二度目のサーフィン大会。腕をあげた茂は、見事入賞。仲間達の祝福を受ける。その数日後、ただ一人海に向かう茂。貴子が駆けつけたとき、浜辺には、サーフボードだけがあった。
