Masaru is very fun anime, filled with meaningless gags and non-sequiteurs. While you do get a feeling they try to tell a story, it's continually interrupted by Hananakajima Masarus insane world view and complete inability to be anything near "normal". In this way, Masaru manages to create a school club for practicing the martial art "Sexy Commando", with all but one of the clib members also being insane in one way of the other. Unfortunately, the DVDs are poorly mastered which in my opinion severely detracts from the overall experience. My disappointment mainly lies with the video, which is very shaky and there's often "ghosting" in it, ie. a kind of "trails" after the video. This especially shows when viewing it on a PC DVD player. Nonetheless, I recommend people to watch this, just be careful not to watch too much in one go, you just might turn insane yourself!
