[Machine Translation] Battahshit, a rapper and trackmaker from Tokyo s Taito Ward, is releasing an 8-track album. Created roughly two and a half years after his previous album, *Row*, this work encapsulates the sounds and lyrics he built up to keep moving forward, even as he acknowledges the numerous sources of depression stemming from the times, his mental state, and his daily life. Focused on creating a more personal brand of hip-hop, Battahshit handled every aspect of this album himself from writing and composing the lyrics to mixing and mastering on every track. The simple, slow beats which strip away all embellishment are by no means what one would call big samples"; it is precisely because of this that the carefully curated track selection and sampling shine through. The introspective lyrics, written while taking the time to reconnect with his true feelings through the phrases and tempo, are rapped rhythmically. As if reflecting with the intention of moving forward, the album also features several tracks he created shortly after beginning his career. The album artwork was created by Akira Endo. With emotions and soundscapes flowing like a story from moment to moment, this album born from personal experiences may eventually become the listener s own. It quietly presents the act of creation. 東京台東区出身のラッパー/トラックメイカー Battahshitが、全8曲のアルバムをリリースする。前アルバム『Row』からおおよそ2年半の期間を経て出来た本作は、時勢、精神状態、生活にまつわる数多のディプレッションを自認し、それでも進むために積み重ねた音と言葉が封じ込められている。より個人的なHip Hopを作ることにフォーカスした本作は、全ての楽曲において作詞作曲、ミックス、マスタリングなどの工程をBattahshit自身が行なった。装飾を拭い去るようなシンプルでスロウなビートは、決して大ネタと言えるものではないからこそ、真心眼を駆使した選盤とサンプリングが光り、そのフレーズとテンポによって本心の回収に時間をかけながら書かれた内省的なリリックがリズミカルにラップされている。進むことを前提に省みるかのように、本作では自身が活動を始めてまもない頃に作ったトラックもいくつか採用している。アルバムアートワークは遠藤昭によって制作されたもの。瞬間ごとの感情、音像がストーリーのように流れていくアルバムは、個人的な発生からいつしか聴く人のものにもなり得るだろう。静かに、人が何かを作るということを提示する。知られざる現行東京ヒップホップの深部を体感してほしい。
