Grid [CD+DVD]

A great CD+DVD pack. The music quality of this album is great and almost every song in the CD is deliciously played. Some of the tunes remind us of the old times of MOVE, when they played more techno and dance music. The CD is absolutely worth it. As for the DVD, it's also great. You get to see all the sequence of PVs the band has released with their singles, all in one single DVD, as well as some other interesting bonus stuff. :) A very good package, really worth buying it if you like this band. :)

This has to be one of the group's best albums. I felt that the album had a nice balance style wise. It was a nice mix of Electronica and Rock. The intro to the album is a unique take, in my opinion, as it's something that hasn't been done before by the group. This just shows how great a group they are in general, as they are always experimenting with different styles of music. They're never consistent, which allows them to surprise their fans with every album they come out with. The best original song on this album, imo, was Disinfencted Generation. I love when the group does rock-based songs, it seems. For one part, Motsu just seemed to stand out and that's what I really liked for it. The main downside for this album, was the fact that they managed to get all of the b-side tracks from the four singles leading up to it, 'cept for The Longest Movie (Freaky Planet). I felt that they should've either dropped This is My Heartache (Disco Time), put in The Longest Movie, or did an album edit of the song Sail Away (Angel Eyes), so that they could include it that way. That aside,since this album has a nice balance genre wise, I'd recommend it to anyone who's interested in the group.

When you listen to Grid, it gives you a feeling that M.O.V.E would have gone back to its roots, but on the other hand there is again also something new. Opening track, Gothica, is gorgeus symphonic composition. Faded is one of the best tracks on this album, and clearly shows Motsu's talent. Definitely that M.O.V.E we want. Angel Eyes is a beutiful ballad and Disco Time is very energetic song, typical M.O.V.E. White Fox is boring and the worst part of Grid. It makes we wonder why there isn't good Longest Movie, which was released on one of the latest singles. Also those remixed songs are not that good, but mostly Grid is great. Especially Freaky Planet and Raimei-Out of Kontrol will make you hot. Sail Away makes you want to dance and its intro is really fascinating. The funniest part of this CD is Misha. When I heard it for the first time, it really made me smile. It's just pure fun, and describes well how M.O.V.E always has something totally new to show us. This time, there is not any particular style, but style and beat changes all the time. Change was nice, but I hope we'd still hear some rock from M.O.V.E. This edition of Grid comes with good bonus DVD.
