      PG x Takemura = A classic act 5

I'm totally won over by this Amuse Classical Selection CD featuring the hit songs of Porno Graffitti performed by pianist Yaeko Takemura. It is absolutely amazing how the songs are transformed, reinterpreted in a classical way. Inspired by composers such as Chopin for 'Saudade', and Georges Bizet's 'Carmen' for 'Agehachou'(my absolute favourite on this cd!~), etc, the music is sometimes barely recognisable from the original, but with interesting flourishes here and there, an amazing flow of fresh yet familiar music. Yes, I think rock and classical can be a lovely combination. One reason this compilation works so well is probably that most of PG's music has great melody, and most of the credit has to go to who I like to call PG's somewhat behind-the-scenes member, AK. Homma-san. The melodies of 'Saudade', 'Sister', 'Agehachou', 'Mugen'(just to name a few) were composed by him, which really shows his knack for amazing melodies.
