Description

In the totalitarian future dystopia, freedom of thought in any form - including art and entertainment - is prohibited, and to assure that, people are forced to take daily doses of a drug called Prozium that suppersses emotions. Clerics are the law enforcers whose job is to kill those who are considered "Sense Offenders." John Preston (Christian Bale) is one such Cleric, who is extremely good at his job, having been trained in the art of Gun-Kata, which is a martial-arts form that analyzes all the patterns and possibilities of fire-arm combat. However, he starts to question the law when he experiences attraction to a sense offender named Mary 0'Brien (Emily Watson). The thinking man's action film is more or less a curious blend of 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and The Matrix.
