There is a secret in this tree. Keigo Higashino's novel "The Keeper of the Camphor Tree," which has surpassed 1 million copies in circulation and generated a major response, has been adapted into an animated feature film for the first time! It tells the story of a mysterious camphor tree said to make wishes come true when prayed to, and the young man who becomes its keeper. The adaptation is directed by Tomohiko Ito, who has gained support from a wide range of audiences with "Sword Art Online" (2012), "Erased" (2016 / CX), and "HELLO WORLD" (2019). The screenplay is by Taku Kishimoto, who has skillfully adapted the appeal of the original works in the "Haikyu!!" series. Fumiya Takahashi voices the protagonist, Reito Naoi, while Yuki Amami voices Chifune Yanagisawa, Reito's aunt, who becomes deeply involved in his fate. Talented cast members including Takao Osawa, Asuka Saito, and Ryubi Miyase also take on important roles that add color to the story. Reito Naoi is a young man who loses his job after an unjust dismissal and is arrested for a mistake he makes after being driven into a corner. He has simply left things to fate, never imagining his future or having the will to make his own choices in life. Then, an encounter that will change his destiny awaits him. "Follow my client's instructions, and you will be released." Reito accepts the condition presented by a lawyer who suddenly appears before him, and is introduced to Chifune Yanagisawa. She is a woman who has greatly contributed to the development of the major corporation Yanagisawa Group, and is said to be the half-sister of his late mother. "There is something I want you to do." That task is to become the <Keeper of the Camphor Tree> standing at Tsukisato Shrine. Though bewildered, Reito becomes the keeper and meets people who visit the shrine grounds for various reasons: Toshiaki Saji, a man who continues to visit the camphor tree regularly; his daughter Yumi Saji, a university student who finds her father's behavior suspicious; and Soki Oba, a young man conflicted about inheriting his family business. As Reito becomes involved with them and Chifune, his world gradually begins to take on color. However, Reito still does not know the <true power> of the camphor tree.
