Description
Virgin Punk is an original animation series planned and created by visionary director Yasuomi Umetsu in collaboration with SHAFT. The first installment titled "Clockwork Girl", which was released theatrically on June 27, 2025, is now available on Blu ray. The screenplay is written by Yuya Takahashi, known for the Kamen Rider series and the drama "Mountain Doctor". Using a unique animation style, the story depicts the anguish of the protagonist Ubu Habu, who lives as a bounty hunter, and the desires and chaos woven by the intense characters surrounding her. The year is 2099. Medical artificial body technology called Somadea has advanced, allowing humanity to overcome all injuries and diseases. However, along with its development, crimes exploiting Somadea technology rapidly increased. Somadea bodies possess physical abilities far exceeding natural human bodies, and illegal modifications made them tools for crime. To combat Somadea related crimes, the government established a bounty hunter system. Registered civilians are authorized to execute wanted criminals with illegal Somadea modifications designated by the police, and in return receive large bounties. In this world, Ubu Habu earns her living by hunting criminals as a bounty hunter. One day, upon returning home from work, she encounters a man from her past known as Mr. Elegance, and her fate begins to spiral out of control. A suspense action story of mechanized girls filled with the scent of gunpowder begins.
