These Walls of Mine

[Machine Translation] Peter Broderick, a 25 year old passionate artist who has established himself as a composer and singer/songwriter, just released his second studio vocal album in February. The album is based on a series of songs that he experimented with using only a laptop and microphone around 2009 and uploaded to the internet with various photos and words to share with his fans, and was produced almost entirely by himself. This is his most personal work to date, and by placing an emphasis on "words," it brings him face to face with the depths of his own inner self. He sometimes quotes strangers on the Internet or his friends and family members in his lyrics, and while he places importance on dialogue with others and on his love of singing, he also experiments with lyricism and vocals in a grandiose way, in a sense expressing "the most natural Peter Broderick" by experimenting with lyrics and vocals in a grandiose way.

作曲家、シンガー・ソングライターとしての確固たる地位を確立している25歳の情熱あふれる天才アーティスト、ピーター・ブロデリック。2月に2枚目のスタジオ・ヴォーカル・アルバムをリリースしたばかりの彼が2012年2作目となる最新作をリリース。2009年ごろにラップトップとマイクだけで実験的に作り、いろいろな写真や言葉とともにネットにアップロードして彼のファンと共有して楽しんでいた楽曲群を元にほぼ自分ひとりで製作した本作は、ゴスペル、ソウル、スポークン・ワード、そしてヒューマン・ビートボックスやラップまでを取り込み、「言葉」に重きを置くことで、自身の内面の深みと膝を突き合わせたこれまででもっともパーソナルな作品。時にインターネット上での見知らぬひととの会話や、彼の友人や家族の言葉をリリックに引用するなど、他者との対話を大切にし、また彼の根底にある「歌唱に対する愛」を大切にしながらも、リリックとヴォーカルの壮大な実験を施すことで、ある意味では「もっとも自然なピーター・ブロデリック」を表現した感動的な実験作!
