Description

[Machine Translation] A contemporary drama based on the masterpiece short story by Edogawa Rampo, one of Japan's most famous writers! How does jealousy and insanity end in a bitter love affair? Tetsuro, an unsuccessful actor in a small theater, and his wife Haru, who works as a teacher, are not on good terms. His meetings with his mistress, Mari, do not satisfy Tetsuro's desires. Hungry for stimulation, Tetsuro proposes a story to Yusuke, a junior actor, as he is working on a script for a new stage play. In exchange for being selected for the lead role in the play, Yusuke pretends to be a fictional character and seduces Haru. Tetsuro wanted to use the story as the basis for a screenplay. At first, Yusuke is reluctant to do so, but as he comes into contact with Haru, his mind wavers between the play and reality. Tetsuro, on the other hand, sees Haru's true face, which he does not show to himself, and becomes very upset.

日本を代表する作家・江戸川乱歩の傑作短編を原案に描く現代劇! 嫉妬と狂気の果てにあるイビツな愛の結末は? ──小劇場の売れない役者・哲郎と、教師として働く妻・晴との仲は冷え切っていた。愛人の茉莉との逢瀬も、哲郎の欲望を満たすことは無かった。刺激に飢えた哲郎は、新たな舞台の脚本を進める中で、後輩役者の悠介にある話を持ち掛ける。それは、舞台の主役に抜擢することと引き換えに、悠介が架空の人物に成りすまし、晴を口説き落とすというものだった。哲郎はその様子を脚本のネタにしようとしていた。最初は気が進まなかった悠介だったが、晴と触れ合うにつれて芝居と現実の狭間で心が揺れ動いていく。一方で哲郎は、自分には見せない晴の素顔を見て激しく動揺するが―。
