However, Oleksa manages to survive and is reunited with his younger brother Ivan, who has become a bandit, making a living by extorting money from the nobility. Oleksa, too, becomes a bandit. He escapes from several life-threatening crises and distributes the wealth he stole from the aristocrats to the people, and before long, his name becomes known throughout the country as a hero. The Polish army, unable to see this, decides to send in an elite force to defeat the Dovbush brothers. Ivan departs for money, while Oleksa and her remaining comrades decide to fight back in order to protect their land and restore peace. Will Oleksa be able to win against the overwhelming Polish army?
