1 - Anna Yuki

Born in Sweden in 1955, Anna Yuki is a Japanese model, artist, and lifestyle influencer. She moved to Japan with her family at the age of 15 and soon after began her modeling career. She is married to Japanese actor Koichi Iwaki. Through her social media presence, she shares content focused on illustration, cooking, fashion, personal care, and mindful living. On Instagram, she promotes a theme of “positive, joyful ageing & healthy lifestyle,” inspiring her audience with grace and elegance.


2 - Mari Natsuki

Born in Tokyo in 1952, Mari Natsuki is a multi-talented Japanese artist known for her work as a singer, dancer, and actress. She began her career in music at an early age and gradually expanded into theater and television. Over the years, she has taken part in musical productions and dramas, including her memorable performance as Vice Principal Catherine in the 2005 TV series Nobuta wo Produce. In 2024, Natsuki returned to the stage to once again portray the characters Yubaba and Zeniba in the theatrical adaptation of Spirited Away, with performances held in both Japan and London.



3 - Koji Yakusho

Born in 1956, Koji Yakusho is a Japanese actor who has gained international acclaim for his powerful performances in a wide range of films and television series over the years. Some of his most notable works include Shall We Dance? (1996), Cure (1997), 13 Assassins (2010), The Third Murder (2017), The Blood of Wolves (2018), Under the Open Sky (2020), and the Netflix series The Days (2023). In 2023, Yakusho earned widespread recognition for his leading role in Perfect Days, a performance that won him the Best Actor award at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.


4 - Tsutomu Yamazaki

Born in Chiba, in 1936, Tsutomu Yamazaki is a celebrated Japanese actor. Throughout his career, he has received seven nominations at the Japanese Academy Awards, winning Best Actor for his performances in Juzo Itami’s comedies The Funeral and A Taxing Woman, as well as Best Supporting Actor for his roles in Go and Departures. In 1984, he also earned the Blue Ribbon Award for Best Actor for The Funeral and Farewell to the Ark. While widely respected for his work in film, younger audiences may recognize him from his television roles in The Ending Planner and Kurosagi, where he starred alongside singer and actor Tomohisa Yamashita (also known as Yamapi).


5 - Ken Watanabe

Born in 1959, Ken Watanabe, is a Japanese actor known for his work on stage, in film, and on television. He gained international recognition for his role as General Tadamichi Kuribayashi in Letters from Iwo Jima, and for portraying Lord Katsumoto in The Last Samurai (2003), a performance that earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He is also well known for his appearances in Memoirs of a Geisha, and Pokémon Detective Pikachu and Christopher Nolan’s films Batman Begins and Inception. Ken Watanabe has earned widespread recognition and multiple honors in Japan, too, including two Japan Academy Prizes for Best Actor, first in 2007 for Memories of Tomorrow, and again in 2010 for The Unbroken.


6 - Takeshi Kitano

Born in 1947, Takeshi Kitano, is a Japanese comedian, actor, filmmaker, and television host. He began his entertainment career as a stand-up comedian in Tokyo and rose to fame in the 1970s. He gained international recognition as an actor in Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (1983) and later as a filmmaker with his directorial debut Violent Cop (1989). He is best known abroad for Hana-bi (1997), which earned him the prestigious Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. His films often explore yakuza life and police dramas.

For younger international audiences, Kitano is recognized for his role in the Hollywood film Ghost in the Shell (2017) and his appearance in the video game Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (2016). Over his career, he has received numerous honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Moscow International Film Festival (2008), France’s Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters (2010), and the Golden Mulberry at the Udine Far East Film Festival (2022).


7 - Hiroyuki Sanada

Born in 1960, Hiroyuki Sanada, is a highly talented Japanese actor. Starting as a child actor, he was mentored by martial arts star Sonny Chiba and trained in Kyokushin karate.

Internationally, he is well known for his role as Ryuji Takayama in Ring (1998) and as the Fool in a renowned stage production of King Lear (1999–2000), which earned him critical praise and an Honorary MBE in 2002. His global film career expanded in the 2000s with standout roles in The Twilight Samurai (2002), The Last Samurai (2003), and Rush Hour 3 (2007).

Sanada has appeared in numerous Hollywood productions, including Sunshine, Speed Racer, The Wolverine, 47 Ronin, Avengers: Endgame, Mortal Kombat, Bullet Train, and John Wick: Chapter 4. On television, he has been featured in Lost and Westworld, and earned major awards for his performance as Lord Toranaga in the 2024 TV series Shōgun.

Over the years, Sanada has received many awards, including multiple Japanese film awards, a Golden Globe, Emmys, a BAFTA, and in 2018, the Japanese government's Medal of Honor with Purple Ribbon. In 2025, Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
