Atsushi Sakurai was the vocalist of the rock band Buck-Tick since 1985, previously being their drummer from 1983.

Throughout Buck-Tick's long career, he has written the most lyrics to their songs.

Buck-Tick was formed in 1984 and released their first album "HURRY UP THE MODE" in 1987.

They made their major debut with the live video "BUCK-TICK Gensho at THE LIVE INN," and released their major first album "Sexual xxxxx!" in the same year.

In 1989, they got first place in the Oricon CD ranking in Japan for the first time, with their fourth album "TABOO."
