Artist Mail is a free CDJapan account feature that can send you email updates about products connected to artists or series you follow. Depending on the product and your notification settings, these updates may include information about new releases, pre-orders, bonuses or special purchase benefits, and release dates.
Depending on the CDJapan account screen, the relevant settings may appear under labels such as Artists & Series Notifications or Email Preference. You can choose the artists or series that interest you and review your notification settings from your account.

Artist Mail can help at several points in a product’s release cycle. Not every product is eligible for every type of notification, and the exact notifications available may vary depending on the product, its availability, the information available to CDJapan, and your notification settings.

Register once, then leave more of the tracking to us. Once you subscribe to an artist or series, CDJapan can send relevant product updates when applicable.
You can subscribe from an eligible product page or manage your artist and series subscriptions from your account. An artist subscription may cover different kinds of products connected to that artist, including CDs, Blu-rays, magazines, and other related items.
Depending on your notification settings, purchases of eligible products may also be used to provide alerts related to the associated artists or series. You can review or change your notification settings at any time.
Please note: Artist Mail does not necessarily send an email for every product or every update.
- Some products may not be eligible for certain notifications depending on the product type, product attributes, or other conditions.
- If you have already ordered a product during the pre-order period, follow-up emails about that same product, such as release-date-related notifications, may not be sent to you.
- Follow-up notifications after the start of pre-orders may not be sent if the product is sold out or otherwise unavailable when the email is prepared.
- Notification availability and timing also depend on the product information available to CDJapan and your account settings.

STEP 1
Open a Product Page
On an eligible product page, tap Subscribe beside the Bookmark button.
STEP 2
Choose an Artist or Series
Select the artist or series you want to follow, then tap its Subscribe button.
STEP 3
Check Your Notification Settings
Check Artists & Series Notifications or the corresponding notification settings in your account. Use See Your Favorite Artists when available to review artist subscriptions, then save your changes.
STEP 4
Review or Remove Subscriptions
Confirm the names you follow and remove any you no longer need. This example shows the Favorite Series list; artist subscriptions can be reviewed from the corresponding Favorite Artists page.

Yes. Artist and series alert emails are a free feature of a CDJapan customer account.
Does an artist subscription cover only CDs?
No. An artist subscription may include different product types connected to that artist, such as CDs, Blu-rays, magazines, and other related items. However, not every product is necessarily eligible for every type of notification.
Do I need a CDJapan account?
Yes. Sign in to your customer account to register, review, or change your Artist Mail settings.
Can I stop the emails or remove an artist?
Yes. Open your notification settings to change email preferences or remove artists and series from your subscription lists.
Will every artist or product update generate an email?
No. Notification availability and timing can vary depending on the product, product eligibility and attributes, product availability, the information available to CDJapan, and your account settings.
Why might I not receive an email about a product?
There are several possible reasons. Some products may not meet the conditions for a particular type of notification. If you already ordered the product during its pre-order period, a later notification about the same product may be unnecessary and may not be sent. Follow-up notifications may also not be sent if the product is sold out or otherwise unavailable at the time the email is prepared.
