登坂広臣(三代目 J SOUL BROTHERS from EXILE TRIBE)がプロデュースするプロジェクト"CDL entertainment"の本格始動に伴い、ソロアーティスト名義をHIROOMI TOSAKAからOMIに改めて初となるEPリリース! 今作は2020年1月にリリースしたソロアルバム『Who Are You?』の世界観で自分自身に問いかけた言葉に対しての新たな『ANSWER』ストーリーの第1弾作品となっており、アーティストとして生きていく中での心の葛藤や孤独などを『影』と表現したコンセプトEPになっている。リード曲の「ANSWER... SHADOW」では制作にZERO(YVES&ADAMS)、SUNNY BOYを迎え、これまでの作品にはないサウンドやコーラスワークを取り入れ、ジャンル問わず、楽曲の世界に深く堕ちていけるような独創的で妖艶さ漂うメロウな楽曲に仕上がっている。「Can You See The Light」は、暗闇の中にもわずかに見える希望の光にフォーカスを当てたリード曲とは真逆の世界観が描かれており、楽曲プロデュースにはUTAを迎え、時代やジャンルにとらわれずに、ビート感やフレージングの細部まで綿密にこだわった、これまでのOMI作品にはない新たな一面が見られる楽曲に仕上がっている。
