Her piano playing is perfect. Carmel Mama (Shigeru Suzuki, Haruomi Hosono, etc.) provides a perfect band behind her. The problem for me is her vocal. She sometimes has a sound like a coronet or a horn that can be very shrill. Some of her earlier albums had some of that sound, but this CD / Vinyl has songs that go completely over the top. - I prefer her earlier albums, like Misslim and Hikouki Gumo. They don't have the virtuoso piano performances, and the band is more laid back, but the vocals blend much batter.
