高円寺のレコード・ショップ Universoundsの尾川雄介氏監修による、ジャズ史に埋もれた世界に誇る珠玉の傑作を再び世に送るプロジェクト、ビクター編が発進。日本のジャズ史に輝く1960年代後半～1970年代前半の名盤を3作初CD化。紙ジャケット仕様、封入物ミニチュア化。――猪俣猛のサウンド・リミテッド、稲垣次郎のビッグ・ソウル・メディア、ジョージ大塚クインテットなどに参加して新進気鋭のトランペッターとして注目を集めていた大野俊三が、満を持して放ったファースト・フル・アルバム。70年代半ばからニューヨークに赴き、アート・ブレイキーやノーマン・コナーズと共演する、その直前の姿を捉えた清冽な作品である。ポスト・ハード・バップ~エレクトリック・マイルス的な感触もある演奏は端正にして先鋭的。張り詰めたワン・ホーンがアップテンポではシャープに攻め込み、スローでは瑞々しく響き渡る。全作曲も自身で手掛けた記念碑的作品。1972年録音。
