クラシック界の2大巨匠、夢の共演! 小澤征爾&水戸室内管弦楽団ベートーヴェン・シリーズ第4弾。2017年5月、水戸芸術館で行われた水戸室内管弦楽団第99回定期演奏会は、マルタ・アルゲリッチがゲストに招かれ、小澤征爾指揮でベートーヴェンのピアノ協奏曲第1番を演奏した。2回のコンサートはいずれも完売で、圧倒的な演奏に満員の聴衆はスタンディング・オベーションで二人の巨匠を称えた。アルゲリッチと小澤征爾は2015年のセイジ・オザワ松本フェスティバルでも共演。このときは、小澤征爾80歳記念コンサートでベートーヴェンの合唱幻想曲を演奏。二人の共演はそれ以来。水戸でのコンサートのあと、別府アルゲリッチ音楽祭でも同じプログラムを演奏した。交響曲第1番は2017年1月に行われた水戸室内管弦楽団第98回定期演奏会のライヴ録音。小澤征爾の力みなぎる指揮がオーケストラから溌剌とした演奏を引き出している。録音にはサイトウ・キネン・オーケストラの録音も手掛けているデッカのドミニク・ファイフとクラシック・サウンドのジョナサン・ストークスが来日。2曲とも水戸でのコンサートをライヴ録音したもの。録音: 2017年1月 (2)、5月 (1) 水戸芸術館 (ライヴ録音) [演奏] マルタ・アルゲリッチ (ピアノ) (1)、水戸室内管弦楽団/指揮: 小澤征爾
