ニュー・オーダー、10年振りのオリジナル・アルバム発売! MUTEレーベル移籍第1弾となる本作は、2005年に発売された『ウェイティング・フォー・ザ・サイレンズ・コール』以来、10年振り9枚目のオリジナル・アルバム。これまでの作品ではエレクトロ・サウンド、もしくはギター・サウンドどちらかに比重を置いていたが、本作ではその両方のサウンドがバランスを保ち、今までの作品の中で最も幅広い音楽性を持った作品となった。また『ゲット・レディー』(2001 年)以来となるジリアン・ギルバートがバンドに復帰を果たした。プロデュースは2曲を除く全てをニュー・オーダーが行い、トム・ローランズが「Singularity」と「Unlearn This Hatred」の2曲をプロデュースしている。またトム・ローランズは「Tutti Frutti」でバンドと共作をし、スチュアート・プライスは「Superheated」にアディショナル・プロダクションとして参加している。アートワークを手がけたのは、伝説のピーター・サヴィル。国内盤。
