I have to admit that I haven't heard much of Takahashi Yoko before picking up this album. I bought it mainly because it conveniently united two of my favourite anime themes, "Yoake Umareru Shojo" (from "Shakugan no Shana") and "Metamorphose" (from "Kono Minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai") on one CD. So when I listened to it first, I was in for quite a few surprises! The album contains an amazing variety of songs and styles, from electronic beats ("You Are the One!"), funny plastic-pop ("Koi no License") and charts-compatible Dance tracks ("My Hope, Your Hope" - sung in English!) to Swing- & Latin-inspired pieces that WILL make you tap your feet ("Wing", "Train") and some slow & serious singing ("Sorewa Toki ni Anata wo Hagemashi ...", "A Little Wish"). And Takahashi-san performs them all with remarkable ease, skill and a voice that's as colourful and varied as the music! This sure is an excellent album and singer that won't grow old on you fast. So please give them a try! I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more from Takahashi-san!
