The movie was quite popular in USSR where it was called "Legend of the dinosaur" ("Legenda o dinozavre"). Interesting fact: Godzilla VS Mechagodzilla 1993 was called "Legend of the dinosaur 2" ("Legenda o dinozavre dva") in russian theaters. I watched both movies with my father when I was a kid.
