neolog The first Item 5

This is the first CD i own from Versailles, so was super excited when receive it. Its a beautiful melody and the photos included are so beautiful. It was worth the money ^^

neolog Interesting single 3

-CD-

ROSE: The main theme of the single. When I saw the preview of ROSE on YouTube I was not expecting much, but now I heard the song it starts to please me. KAMIJO's voice in my opinion is very good and is what I paid more attention to the song, the guitar solos are very interesting to listen. This song have not a solid structure, is not well built, and you realize that because after listening to the song you can't remember how it goes. It seems that the band did not work much in the structure of this song. I give to this song 3/5

-ayakashi-: This B-side really likes me, the atmosphere it creates is really interesting and new in Versailles, stands out from what we've heard before (since JUBILEE), they never have done a song like this. The song in my opinion creates a calm and rude atmosphere at the same time, and the sound of the koto add mistery to the song. The voice that used KAMIJO fits well with the style of the song, without showing off too much, and I think he could sing it very well in live. The guitar solos seem somewhat boring, but the bass is amazing. Indeed MASASHI did a good job in this song. In this song I give 5/5

Love will be born again [Japanese Version]: I personally loved this new version. KAMIJO's voice sounds very Lareine style, and I think the song is heard better in Japanese than in English. The accompaniment of guitar, drums and bass make the song sound more special, and the chorus that appears almost half of the song is very good, although I would have liked more the repetition of this part at the end of the song. Everything in this song is very well, I can not give it less than 5/5

THE RED CARPET DAY: The first time I heard it I was very surprised because I did not imagine that this song had several surprising changes, but let's slowly. The tempo change: the first thing one notices when listen to the song is that the rhythm of the battery is faster and rude, here you can note the dramatic improvement of YUKI on drums.KAMIJO's voice: his voice is more opaque in this release. The harpsichord in the middle of the song: in the original song, in half of the song you can hear a harpsichord very interesting, in this new version it was changed to a suspended harpsichord tone, taking away some epicity to the song, followed by this, TERU does a very good guitar solo. And finally, screams: the screams of "the red" that can be heard after the middle of the song are different too, not as good as the original version. When you hear the song you will realize why.
After hearing the song more often and get used to it I noticed a Japanese style in this new version, I hope I may not be wrong with this. Despite several changes suffered in the song I give it a 3/5

I liked this single, compared with other previous singles: DESTINY, Philia and Rhapsody of the Darkness. Although is not an amazing single, worthy of commemorating their 5th anniversary, is good.

-History of Descendant of the Rose-

I did not know what exactly was going to try this DVD, so I did not know what to expect, but the History of Descendant of the Rose was not disappointed at all, in fact is very interesting. The video begins by introducing the band members and discusses the concerts and releases of Versailles in these 5 years. In the video we can see some clips of their concerts that took place during these 5 years and some making-of of their PVs. The video is well-organized chronologically and narrates the life of Versailles and emphasizes important events such as the change of indie band to major band, and the introduction of MASASHI as the new bassist. The curious thing is that at the end of the clip when the names of the members of the band appears, at the end, the name of Jasmine You appears.

-World Tour 2012 Holy Grail Grand Final-

I'm delighted with this live, it's really very good. I find many improvements when compared with their previous Live DVD: Chateau de Versailles ?JUBILEE?. It have a good video quality and a great improvement in the audio recording. The atmosphere of the concert is amazing, very Holy Grail style. The energy and joy that members plays in the concert is noticeable and fascinating. The dancers who appears in MASQUERADE performs simple movements, but the clothes they wear give a very good and entertaining view of their performance.

About the performance of members in the concert, I have favorite parts. At the beginning of DRY ICE SCREAM!!, KAMIJO does a very hard headbang, the heaviest of him I've seen, because he does not usually do much headbang. After the middle of the song KAMIJO uses a very serious voice that sound interesting. In Flowery, KAMIJO dances with TERU and HIZAKI, as is told that he did during the world tour. And finally Remember Forever, where almost the end of the song the audience chants with KAMIJO.

As extra information in this concert is not focused much to the audience, which I think is good because the audience in general acts bored at concerts. The irony is that in this concert there was more interaction between the band and the fans.

No doubt this is one of the best lives that Versailles has done for a long time, I am very anxious about the full DVD release and I have great expectations, since I am not a big fan of the album Holy Grail.

-52p BOOKLET-

In the 52p booklet of ROSE we can find photos of the band in suits of ROSE and unseen photos of ASCENDEAD MASTER. The pages of the lyrics fits well the concept of the songs. I do not know what to say about the booklet, the pictures are good but lacks something. I give a 4/5
