Listen to ishibue (natural stone flute) that were used in Jomon period (10,000 BC-300 BC), biwa (Japanese lute) used in the medieval time, and musical instruments that were refined in the modern times including Koto, Shamisen, and Shakuhachi (bamboo flute), and much more. The CD comes with a booklet that also has an text in English by Yoshihiko Tokumaru (musicologist) that guides you through the history and the musical instruments.
