This is a good movie, with a great animation and soundtrack. The video transfer is just amazing!! I would recommend this edition if you are a big fan of ghost in the shell!

Description
Nearly ten years ago, director Mamoru Oshii burst on the international scene with his animated magnum opus, "Ghost in the Shell." The groundbreaking film served as the inspiration for the "Matrix" trilogy, and has influenced countless other films which have come after it. The long awaited sequel, "Innocence: Ghost in the Shell 2," puts Oshii right back in top form. Based on the same source material (Manga series by Masamune Shirow), the film features some of the same characters from the first film, Bateau, Kusanagi, and Togusa. The plot unravels as Bateau investigates a grisley murder commited by a humanoid/female robot. The film has been selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2004 Cannes International Film Festival, marking the first time ever that this honour has been extended to an animated movie. Contains two discs: Disc 1 (DTS audio, only Japanese subtitles available), Disc 2 (Dolby Digital 6.1ch, Dolby Digital 2.0ch, subtitles in languages shown under Editions Details avaialble).

This dvd is one of a kind. It's rare in the world of anime. Very good done. The drawings are nice made and the title music is outstanding.
I watched this film shortly before seeing Steamboy in the cinema and it made the latter experience a bit underwhelming. The animation in this film is nothing short of breath-taking and features an interesting blend of 2D and 3d elements merged together to form a hybrid. The plot may be a little bit slower than that of the original Ghost in the Shell but it does dwell a lot deeper on some of the subjects conveyed by the whole Ghost in the Shell concept. Be warned, this is the kind of anime where the characters will quote Milton and the Book of Psalms in the same sentence! For those that appreciate something a bit more cerebal this is definitely a must, as it also is for those that appreciate great animation!
