The third soundtrack to the show Stand Alone Complex (fourth if you count the Be Human soundtrack). After various listenings I've found this to be the weakest soundtrack to the series. Not that it doesn't have some excelent listening pieces, from the laid back KNOW YOUR ENEMY to the little sad DEAR JOHN and many others. What this soundtrack lacks a bit is a coherent sound. It sounds like a collection of songs and pieces thrown together. It sounds fracmented and I found myself skipping the more boring pieces in favour of the pieces I liked the most. All in all, this soundtrack is a very nice addition to the other Stand Alone Complex soundtracks. If you're interrested in exploring Yoko Kanno's work and haven't tried out earlier Stand Alone Complex soundtracks, I sugest getting the two earlier soundtracks first.

The third soundtrack to the Stand Alone Complex series is a fine bookend.... if this is the last GITS SAC OST. Volume #3 is just as solid and an eclectic selection of tracks. I have often bought Kanno's soundtracks on a whim, without sampling them or even knowing of the movie/feature/series they belong to. As with previous purchases, this one is well worth picking up.
