great reissue of the whos classic first album from 1965 when they where on the brunswick label, also included here is all the tracks the who recorded for the brunswick label in 1965 prior to getting sighned to the reaction label in the uk in 1966, anyway this is where the who cut there teeth in the uk playing clubs around the country as well as london, also this album took the who to scandanavia in 1966 for shows there as well, i loved it back in 2004 when this first got reissued the proper way !!!!!!!! i dont know why these shel tamey recordings took so many years to get a proper reissue but gladley 8 years ago it did, anyway this issue is almost the same as the 2004 and 2008 deluxe editions except of coarse this has different packaging, if you got this deluxe edition in 04 or the box that the japanese record company put out in 2008 then you have all the music, this one has the great shm mastering, also comes with the original uk sleeve, as a bonus you also get the original us sleeve and the original 1966 japan sleeve with the go go girl on the cover ( i actually have that original lp took almost 20 years to find it though) anyway rogers voice is very rough on these recordings unlike the 1966 recordings and onwards, this was recorded at a time when most bands on the london mod and rock scene where falling all over blues classics and as you can see and here the who do a few very good ones on this record!!!!! i love that fact that i can now listen to motoring on cd the past 10 years, that track was a throw away from these sessions but has been restored, as i said with t he a quick one review, times have changed and rock bands dont make killer music like this anymore, also regardless of what anyone has ever told me, i feel from watching lots of old dvd footage of the who from the 60s and 70s that they blew led zeppelin off the stage live!!! the who where such a high energy band back than, play loud
