this would be the whos last record for 24 years, the next studio output would not come until 2006, well this was 1982 and this was a very dissapointing record, this album is only good for 5 great songs COOKS COUNTY, IVE KNOWN NO WAR,DANGEROUS, ITS YOUR TURN AND the single eminence front was good but very very played out on us radio, in 1982 townshend also released his solo album all the best cowboys have chinese eyes and this was only a year after face dances, roger was involved with other projects and john entwistle popped over to the us to work on his to late the hero album with joe walsh so i felt all four members of the who had a lot going on at this time and did not put much effort at all into this record, this is really a pete townshend solo album with the rest of the who members calling this a who record, when this was released in august 1982 the who booked a huge farwell stadium tour of the us wich was pretty much a lousy tour campared to the 60s and 70s, this album did wear thin even on most diehard who fans like myself, if you ask any who fan wich there weakest album was they will say the weakest who record was its hard in 1982, this was a bit of a sad ending with such a commercial album as a sighn off record, however now 30 years on the who would reform for reunions starting in 1989 and by 2000 would reform fully but after 2006s endless wire as much as i love the who I HOPE THEY NEVER TRY ANOTHER RECORD AGAIN, there best work was from 1965 to 1975, anyway if you like amrican sounding hits then im sure you will like this record but this was really not for me with the exception of the 4 songs i listed in caps, those 4 rocked!!!!!!!!!! ps im waiting for roger daltreys solo albums from the 70s to get the shm mastering and papersleeve treatment, they have already done townshends, entwistles and the one awful but classic keith moon record from 1975
