Repertoire. CD includes the original Crusade album (45 minutes) and 10 bonus tracks (30+ minutes). The original album is great. It includes all kind of blues you would expect of John Mayall now and then ? slow crying ballads, mid-tempo compositions and energetic drivers. Perfect and I would say more than enough to enjoy the great musician. Bonus tracks (4 of them came from Peter Green) vary and do not integrate with Crusade well enough (also because of different soundstage) to create cohesive view. Performance. The guys do blues. And, they do it from the heart. They play the form and style that can not be attributed to any other musician but John Mayall. Sound. Viva la SHM-CD! The recording was done in a way that drums and bass (low notes are not very transparent) sit in right channel, guitars and piano in right channel. The man, harmonica, lead guitar and sax are in the center. However, these are all mixed around in the bonus tracks that also present lower sound quality. Packaging. Packed in mini-LP cardboard sleeve the product gives outstanding tactile feeling. The pack includes booklet in English (good quality), Japanese notes together with lyrics.
