ABBA / The Singles [SHM-CD] [Limited Release]

As an ABBA fan who has numerous CD masterings of all their albums and compilations I thought I had the best sounding versions of all their songs. But when word went round the ABBA fan community that The Singles: The First Fifty Years was the best sounding ABBA compilation released to date with praise given to Miles Showell for his sympathetic mastering conducted at Abbey Road I had to investigate. Showell has confirmed that he was given archive high resolution flat transfers of the original masters. And you can really hear the difference with great detail and a tonal warmth making them sound like the original vinyl releases. It’s got to the point where I’m only playing this compilation and no other ABBA CD as it’s such a pleasure to listen to. So buy this limited SHM CD Japan Edition before it sells out particularly as it comes in a plastic jewel case unlike the rest of the world where it’s released in a digipack which are prone to scratching the CD’s. Five stars all round!

This is the almost complete Abba Collection in chronological order. All the most important songs are here. Maybe a few songs are missing, but I have all their albums anyway. This is also great sounding cd, better than my previous Abba cd collections. Thanks, cd Japan!

Unlike the U.K version this comes in a jewel case. All singles in release order. Sounds much better than other Abba compilations - crisp and clear with the added SHM Cd format I would guess that this is new remastering.
