クイーン結成50周年を記念して、長らく入手困難だったオリジナル・アルバム全15タイトルの【リミテッド・エディション】が、日本でのみ再発決定!! ■『ザ・ワークス』(オリジナル発表年: 1984年): 『ホット・スペース』がいささか先鋭的すぎたことを踏まえて、"誰もが求めるクイーン像"という理想を追求しながら制作された11作目。ソロ活動での気分転換も功を奏し、フレッシュでポップな感覚が貫かれている。ロジャー・テイラー作の「RADIO GA GA」はミュージック・クリップでの振り付けがそのままコンサートに活かされるほどの一体感を生み出し、ジョン・ディーコンが書いた「ブレイク・フリー (自由への旅立ち)」は抑圧された民衆の解放のシンボルとして熱い支持を受けた。フレディ・マーキュリーが手がけた「永遠の誓い」、ブライアン・メイのペンによる「ハマー・トゥ・フォール」もシングル・カットされるなど、バランスのよいアルバムとなった。ボーナスEPにはシングルB面や別ミックス、クイーン版クリスマス・ソングの「サンク・ゴッド・イッツ・クリスマス」のほか、1985年1月の"ロック・イン・リオ"でのライヴ音源など、6曲を収録。
