      GOOD RECORD 4

this was a good record by Steppenwolf but it falls short of the trademark heavy sound they produced in the studio back then, still this is a very good record that sounds awesome and the band blend well and jive well together and the whole thing comes out good in the end, as I stated before NOTHING TOPS THE FIRST 3 STUDIO RECORDS BY THIS BAND!!!!!! I guess what I am saying is this is second rate Steppenwolf here but still this is a very enjoyable cd if you liked the earlier stuff, basically if you liked monster I strongly feel you will like this one to, this record still packs a lot of punch and has some great songs on here, the opener ball crusher is a really good song as the sad anti drug song snowblind is great but when it came to Steppenwolf doing anti drug songs nothing tops the pusher, honestly in my 35 years of buying lps and cds I had never heard this record, I bought all 7 Steppenwolf japan sleeves for my collection so I gave this two spins before I reviewed this for cd japan so I could be 100% fair but I think it is worthy of 4 stars, lots of great guitar work mixed in with great organ and johns distinctive voice put this together very very well I feel, this band sure made its mark on rock n roll way back in the day..............

      Steppenwolf - Steppenwolf 7 US 1970 2

Steppenwolf 7 is an album by the band Steppenwolf, released in 1970, and their fifth studio recording for Dunhill Records. It is the first Steppenwolf album with new bass player George Biondo. While the album featured Steppenwolf's trademark rock and roll sounds, none of the songs were able to make the Top 40. The album featured a cover of Hoyt Axton's "Snowblind Friend", their second cover of one of his anti-drug songs (the first being "The Pusher"). Along with "Who Needs Ya", it was one of two singles from the album which made the charts but fell short of the Top 40. Original tracklist: [Track times per LP sleeve.] 01."Ball Crusher" ?
