First let me say that if you are reading this, it is assumed that you have a high-end stereo system; Having previously purchased 3 versions- the original cd - long ago released, the version included with the 20th anniversary 3-disc set and the hybrid sacd version that includes a surround sound layer, I was blown away with this version that I decided to" take a chance on". I have read that the last 2 releases were remixed when transferring - after listening to this version, I concur- this version sounds like my original vinyl record; and there is a great separation of instrumentation and vocals throughout as well as a more analogue sound while still sounding more dynamic than all the others(you can actually hear the musicians playing loudly and softly); in conclusion, because it is said that the original master tapes were never in great condition, this will never sound as spectacular as some of your finest remastered/sacd classics but if you feel, like I do, that this is Eric Claptons finest hour, in terms of combined singing, songwriting and playing,AND you have a GOOD stereo system then don't hesitate to purchase this and "crank-it up"!!
