Neolog Reviews

Post reviews on Neolog and interact with people from all over the world!

neolog The best 5

In the new phase of D'ray, Redeemer is a great album.
With tracks lighter than usual, but with the same weight instrumental we know.

The track Redeemer are the best music of the album.
With a PV in DVD, recording almost one in Hollywood, well produced and with enough money spent.

Still has a beautiful poster.

neolog WoW 5

One of their best albums, if not the best. At least for my taste. It's definitely good to see their "lighter" side too. During Kohaku and R.E.M.-Fuyu no genchou I always start crying >_< And Paradox 5...it's just wow no words....heavenly...? I think.
They fit perfectly together with the stronger tracks^^ Def a must have!

Changes 4

As you've probably heard or read, Redeemer shows a change in tone from D'espairsRay's previous albums. There is a much lighter pop/rock sound to a lot of the tracks, which is disappointing to many fans of D'espairsRay's older music. I too prefer the darker, heavier sound of their previous releases.

That being said, people forget that D'espairsRay has been around for 10 years. Bands with that kind of staying power should not and cannot keep making the same music over and over again. I see Redeemer as sort of an experimental album. There are heavier tracks that remind you of "old" D'espairsRay, the pop-ish tracks that are mostly disappointing, and some wild cards, like Paradox 5. It's like hearing the growing pains of a well established band trying to balance doing something new with doing what they're known for.

Ultimately, this album is not their best. But I still love D'espairsRay and I'm curious to see what they'll do next. Hopefully it will end up sounding more cohesive than Redeemer.

experiment 4

The sound on this album is so different from their earlier albums ... Hope that's just an experiment.
I was happy to sea long making on the DVD. It was very interesting.

Truly amazing! 5

I forgot to write my review earlier.
I got this CD day after the release date and I was so excited!
I never can say my opinion just after listening the CD only once, so maybe it is good that I forgot to write this earlier?
The poster which came with the CD is very pretty! I like it a lot! And the card, again I got Karyu! I have milloin Karyu cards now >D Not that it matters.

About the CD, I really, really like it a lot! Even though some people are very disappointed. I'm not!
I love all the songs, and my favourites are "Lizard", "Paradox5", "REDEEMER", "Kohaku", "Lost in re:birth".
Especially "Lizard" has become one of my favourite songs of all Despa songs ^^

The DVD extra is very nice too! I enjoyed watching the "Making of PV". All of them are so cute and funny :D
And I have always liked the "REDEEMER" PV <3 It is a little creepy, but that is why I love it!
This CD+DVD is definitely not a disappointment at all, I'm very satisfied and happy!
D'espairsRay is absolutely one of my favourite bands!
Can't wait to see D'espairsRay live in July! <3

This is D'espairsRay at their best! 5

I am very glad that I bought this CD! In my opinion, it is the best CD released by this band. Every song is perfectly polished. I honestly can't decide which song is my favorite. HIZUMI's voice is so strong, and is simply amazing. His voice goes along perfectly with the instrumentals. Every song reaches deep, and pulls emotions out that you didn't know you had. It is very inspiring. I can't stop listening to this CD! If you are thinking about buying it, please do it! You will not regret it!!

Redeemer 5

I love the music, and the album.

My favorite tracks from the CD were: "Lizard", "Brilliant", "Redeemer", and "Horizon".

:D I'm looking forward to the next album.

REDEEMED! 4

I have been listening to this band from their early gothic years, and admit was one of the fans that have been disappointed that they have gone main stream, but I gotta say that they have redeemed themeselves with this new album! I love lizard, redeemer, and masquerade because they try to recapture their old day sound(but don't really). I especially love Parodox 5. Awesome sound! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because of traks 10 and 12, they verge on poppy. All in all, this album is cool. Great job guys!

Redeemer 5

Good album for me ^__^ PARADOX 5 is really beautiful. It's a good surprise from D'espairsRay. The others song are great too.

4

d'espa's 3rd album was certainly one that had me a little confused on the first listen. they've definitely incorporated some new styles to their sound, and it took a little longer for the album to grow on me. nevertheless, it's still a great album! of all their new songs in this album, my favs were Kohaku, Lost in Re:birth, and REDEEMER!

p.s. the dvd was soo funny and much longer than i expected it to be! it was definitely worth my money :D

WTH? 5

What's up with people being like "this in not the D'espa we remember"? Guys, people change. Yeah, they were darker before, but you really can't keep on walking the same path forever; sooner or later some change only does good. Not saying they were too different before but thes "new" D'espa is also nice, imho.
Personally, I like this album. It's good, no matter what people say. And Paradox5 is one of my fave tracks off the album :3

Redeemer 5

I just got this album today and it's awesome! People have been giving this 4 stars and such. Heh, you're not going to connect with an album or song everytime, so get over it. Anyway, this album was good. I love it alot. ^_^ Plus the poster is just as awesome.
